They opened with a package showing how all eight of the participants in tonight’s main event battle royal qualified.

Rosa Mendes then came out dancing to some salsa music. She introduced Zack Ryder, mentioning that he retired Tommy Dreamer. Ryder is claiming that he is the heart and soul of ECW as he retired Dreamer and that being the heart and soul of ECW was above even becoming champion. He went on for a bit before Hurricane interrupted. “Citizen Woo Woo” was told to shut up and that he was not in fact the heart and soul of ECW. They went back and forth for a bit before Rosa did her Desi Arnaz-style promo in Spanish. She then slapped Hurricane who responded by punching Ryder, sending him over the top rope and to the floor. During the break, Tiffany apparently made a match between the two to start immediately (which explained why both men were in full wrestling gear).

Hurricane v. Zack Ryder

The match started during the break. Ryder had the advantage and tried for some early near falls. He used a face buster and worked a choke near the ropes. That led into the leg lariat for a near fall. Hurricane then took a big bump in the corner off of an Irish whip. Hurricane finally made a comeback and hit a neckbreaker. He then came off of the ropes with a missile dropkick and hit a Lou Thesz press. Hurricane then went up top again but Ryder caught him. Ryder then maneuvered into the Zack attack for the victory.
Ryder d. Hurricane, Pin, 5:30 plus commercials, **.

Backstage, CM Punk cut a promo, putting over his ability to convert people to his lifestyle pointing to Drew Gallows. He said becoming ECW champion would give him the opportunity to continue to mentor to the young ECW superstars and turn the show into a straight edge paradise.

Ezekiel Jackson def. local competitor
Ezekiel Jackson easily steamrolled through another local competitor this week on ECW on Syfy. But Vladimir Kozlov again appeared after Jackson’s match, staring down the seemingly unstoppable force. The Moscow Mauler picked up the local competitor and hit him with an Iron Curtain. Not to be outdone in the game of oneupsmanship, Jackson again leveled the local opponent, then exited the ring without looking back. When will these two Superstars finally clash in the Land of the Extreme?
